Sarah Carney is a visual artist based in Toronto, Ontario.
This year, she is showcasing a new series of large-scale works, entitled Your Sparkling Future.
These new, large and luminous paintings explore the contrasts between beloved future fantasies with corresponding real-world issues, exposing the gap between escapist storytelling and societal realities. This duality is illustrated through simple drawing techniques and a bold, limited colour palette, distorted or hidden figures, and symbolic layering.
Carney's work has been exhibited in several curated and group shows in Toronto, including John Kissick’s Sincerely Yours exhibit at Propeller Gallery.
Sarah is a graduate of Queen’s University, the University of Toronto, and the University of Guelph.
